All One
(steel, stainless steel, lights, pillows, flowers(v2))
Everything on Earth is connected. The rivers and streams are like blood vessels. Tree branches are like lungs or brain sides. All of this connectivity is captured in “All One”. Light is used to create the illusion of separate trees as a forest in shadow. But in truth, all is one.
This work started as a basic armature that was so calling, it became something entire different. It took shape into a single object but was incomplete with out its shadow forest. Once the forest is cast from the colored light, Michael further pushed the installation by creating a picnic setting at the base of tree-like roots of the sculpture. It was installed as the center piece for lounging spaces at events several times.
In it’s current iteration, Michael build a large, mobile planter box filled with wild flowers and climbers. He has playing with water elements, nutrients, and nitrogen to affect their growth. Further experimentation is required.
