Michael’s passion for public work runs deep. Since early in his studies, he has worked to break free from the confines of the gallery and bridge the gap between view and participant. Michael uses play, discovery, and research as tools to shape the most incredible experiences.
Michael is a Transformative Artist. In his approach to public art. His work is active, interactive, and changing. Even his more-static work holds surprises and suspension of disbelief. One thing that is always striking about Michael’s work is its beauty and incredible layering of details and meaning.
Mr. Verdon’s process of creation begins with hand-drawings and research. Michael strives to learn and grow from every build. On many builds, Michael leads scores of volunteers and builds community through the work. He mentors volunteers and has a skill for building the perfect crew for each work.
